As debate raged at the badly named DOOM’s headquarters, a figure of a human badly covered fine robes arrived asking for help. This individual claimed that he was a wrongly accused apprentice mage who was cast out from his mentor without any of his own material. DOOM decided for boredom’s sake to believe the story as they were still recounting the previous treasure finding. He promised them half of his masters treasure vault, but somehow could remember any part of his master’s mansion. Alarm bells rang, but no one was home to register this story.
DOOM followed this individual to the claimed wizard’s abode and then told them that he would meet them at The Sated Spectre once the caper was finished. The Magically locked and trapped front door was Knocked by Sly and then the trap was bypassed by Kerreth. Rooms were investigated, a poultry treasure was found in the basement as every door had to have the fire traps placed on them bypassed by Kerreth. A library was discovered with some magical books and one obvious magically trapped one sitting on the table in the middle of the room. Reginald decided to simply steal everything, opening up his portable hole. Kerreth and Cyric noticed that someone was scrying on them.
A room upstairs with a without a trapped door was opened to reveal a Elven figure sitting beside a table, who calmly invited Kerreth in for a chat. Kerreth and the only other visible party member visible Sly entered the room. Kerreth immediately new the spellfincher game was up and started casting a spell at the same time as Sly and the Elven mage. A figure emerged from the wall beside the door and attempted to close the door. The door remained open as a giant strength of a dwarf kept it open. Bolts from Kerreth’s magic missile hit the Elven mage disrupting his spell as Sly turned him into a goldfish with an highly amusing Polymorph Other spell.
Next round more Elves appeared into the room, including one that attempted to backstab Kerreth, but she noticed. A dispel magic spell was cast failing to dispel anything, as the room was filled with kobolds from a highly amusing Monster Summoning from Reginald. Kerreth began to fidget with her necklace and then suddenly a large fireball ripped through the room, destroying valuables, curtins, injuring everyone, killing all the kobolds and causing Sly to flee the room. Thraim still stood at the entranceway as he was protected from fire and was still casting a Recitation Spell.
Kerreth drew he hateful sword and attempted to defend herself as the Elven Warriors attacked with swords most pointy. The Spellfincher mage who had appeared cast a spell. Sly failed to turn him into a goldfish as well. Thraim and Lanceabit entered the room to engage the Eleven warriors. Everyone was covered by crawling horrible bugs and insects, but this being a low level spell failed to effect anyone. Sly from the corridor sent bolts of Magic Missile into the Elven mage, slamming past his stone skin protection and making him dead. The Elven warriors were hit from Lanceabit and Kerreth but bounced off Stoneskin spells. Thraim mashed a severly wounded fireballed elven fighter thief with Typus, causing brain like matter to cover the eastern wall. Apparently an illusion of Reginald entered the room as thrown from a deck of illusions, however, no one even bothered to care to notice it and the illusion just rang round being generally annoying to anyone who could actually see it.
As Kerreth and Lanceabit continued to batter at the magical defences of the now very threatened Elven warrior, a Slow spell from Reginald caused both warriors to begin to move more slowly and then froze completely as a hold person spell cast from Thraim took effect. The warrior stoneskin only delayed the process as they died, frozen in terror. Cyric rushed into the room saying “I’m here, you’re safe, I saved you”. Looting of the corpses revealed some treasure including the now body of the Elven mage transformed in death from a goldfish lying under the table. The rest of the mansion was searched to discover two tied up individuals who were immediately set free, revealing that they were the true owners of the house. After announcing that they were the true hero’s of the day DOOM left to count their treasure.
