A typically sneaky plan was attached.
Surprisingly the middle of the day was selected for a daylight action.
Cyric climbed the wall, silently opening a window, to invisibly view the room where the “evil Elf” was staying, Three thugs were busing boasting and playing cards upstairs. All were pickpocketted by Cyric. A room behind a curtain was also spotted.
Reginald, Kerrreth & Thraim (wearing his sneaky leather armour) crept silently up the stairs, with Kerrreth and Reginald opening any locks and looking for traps. Sly and Lanceabit waited invisibly outside as guards for the above transaction.
The trio made spectacular successes as they crept quietly and skillfully up the stairs, onto the top level and secured the level where the evil elf could be located. Invisibly floating up on the roof, Cyric heard a interesting sound and slipped silently out the window. Kerrreth positioned her self near the table of thugs, Thraim and Reginald crept behind the curtain seeing the evil elf asleep on the bed in the middle of the day. Amazed by her bad luck at being asleep at the time (god be praised) Reginald licked his evil little lips and used his broad sword to quietly end the elf’s life. Barely a gurgle exited her lips as Thraim pickup the entire bed and slid it into the portable hole, removing all evidence of the dastardly deed. Thraim quietly slipped out stroking the bottom of Kerrreth on the way past, but who didn’t get the hint that she should leave. Reginald uttered another invisibility spell and also crept out leave Kerreth wondering who had stroked her posterior in such a familiar and friendly way (definately not an attack).
Cyric the brave soul had spotted a troop of city watch approaching the house and waited on the roof top. Lanceabit and Sly had also spotted the approaching watch. Lanceabit decided to approach the situation straight ahead. Slipping off his magical ring he appeared at the front of the watchmen say “none shall pass”. Taken completely by surprise they stopped in their tracks and attempted to negotiate with his heavily armed figure. “None shall pass” was repeated. Sly just looked on hidden behind his invisibility spell. Lanceabit’s actions gave the murder crew time to come down stairs and survey the scene. As on the busy street a street vendor was selling apples and 5 individuals were busy betting on a dog fight. Thraim, arrived as the watchmen had had enough of this individual and attempted to collar this troublemaker, who now claimed to be the Emperor of Waterdeep. The two citywatchmen completely failed as the two remaining watchmen ran off to get reinforcements.
Suddenly the two dogs fighting each other stopped and bolted at the watchmen biting and barking. The 5 dog baiters stood still in amazement. Ignoring the obvious mad man claiming to be emperor, the watch used their clubs to clobber those poor wee doggies. Lanceabit, slipped on his ring in the distraction and vanished. The Watch seeing the watching dog baiters said “hey” and chased down the closet dog baiters as the other three ran off. Thraim giggled and adjusted his ring of mammal control and slipped away unseen. Reginald using some unobvious magic slipped out the front door and just walked off.
Inside the apartment Kerrreth witnessed the three thugs discover that their ward had vanished including her bed and ran around like headless chickens, before grabbing some stuff and exiting out the building. Seeing the three thugs vanish, Cyric (the brave) trailed them out the city gates before waylaying them in the wild and relieving them of lives and loot. Kerrreth stayed inside the apartment long enough to steal the dead elf’s magical equipment.
DOOM met back at the tavern with their loot and stories…
