A brief meeting at the lair resulted in plan for the entire membership of DOOM to participate in the caper at The Bloody Fist. Sly had learnt some powerful ESP spells while Reginald was tasked to speak to Jukk about the problem of the police being summoned to a job before it actually happened.
As the DOOM was preparing to leave the similar looking man who had previously been magically Geas to contact the party was spotting loitering outside the Sated Spectre. He warned DOOM about a possible traitor ish activity by the members of Mr B’s crew. Cyric pickpocketed him before he left the Spectre as he was charged 2 gp for a drink, by the vindictive Reginald.
DOOM arrived at the Bloody fist and spread themselves out within the crowd. Reginald began speaking to Jukk who proved to be innocent and pointed out another shifty looking individual who gave him the job. Cyric noticing two Tempus clerics, desided that their holy symbols would look better on Sir Lanceabit, pickpocketed their holy symbols, then gently placed them in Lanceabit pocket!. Thraim carrying his takard over behind the individual prepared to start a bar fight. Sir Lanceabit just looked bored and had a drink at the bar, Sly looked timmered and scared in his very expensive outfit.
Thraim “accidently” bumped this individual and accused him of spilling his drink, the man turned around and told Thraim to “piss off shorty” and turned his back on this non threatening short induividual. Outraged, Thraim tapped him on the shoulder and said “sorry it was all his fault”, the man emptied his takard onto Thraim’s head. Spluttering with indiginity, Thraim acted with immediate violence punching him in the groin with an uppercut and then into the kidney knocking him unconscious on to the bar table. Cries of “it’s that stupid gnome” echoed throughout the bar.
Reginald who was standing on the bar became invisible immediately (realising that he was the only gnome currently visible) as a variety of individuals began to limber up and start swinging. Thraim decided to punch the man standing near him just watching. Unfortunately, this individual was a member of the city watch who told the now enraged dwarf to “settle down”. Thraim carried on swining as the city guards truncheon was swung. Sly committed magical assualt with a poorly directed colour spray. Five fire beetles appeared into the corner of the room (summoned by the invisible gnome). Chaos ensued. A variety of members of the bar began to find the need to be elsewhere as chair legs and fists started flying.
The watch lieutenant was knocked unconscious by the vindictive Thraim from a vicious haymaker. Cyric disquised as a peasant exited out of the Bloody fist. Beetles began to chomp on patrons as they couldn’t be controlled by Reginald who didn’t speak “bug”. Sly committed another magical assualt knocking more patrons unconscious with his colour spray. Sir Lanceabit decided to splat some bugs.
As two patrons were cruelly slain by the summoned beetles, Sir lanceabit began to chop them up. Reginald after stuffing the mark into the portable hole invisibly fled out the door. Kerreth attempted to wait behind the bar, but the half orc axe wielding barman was having none of it. Thraim stunned the remaining guardsman with a patented kidney blow as Sly cast forget on the guards. The Remaining beetles were killed by Sir Lanceabit and Thraim as he tumbled under a table to attack. Outside Cyric loitered with intent but his intended mark turned out to be a sergent in the watch who was busy attempting to summon support with a whistle.
Looking at variety of destruction inside the members of DOOM casually left. Patrons picked up the pieces of patrons chomped on by the now vanished beetles upstairs to the clerics of Tempus. Cyric stayed outside to see what happened as some griffons appeared. After determining that his description wasn’t given in evidence attempted to follow the sergent, but was foiled by the fact he lived in the guard barracks.
Kerreth bored by the whole experience decided on some basic B&E was in order to cheer her spirits. After failing to break into a local Weapon Smiths desided a Stone Mason was more her level, she broke in, found a hidden chest stacked with silver trade bars, rapt her small arms around the chest and teleported away, 900gp richer.
Reginald took the unconscious mark back to the lair and began to question him blinking most furously. He revealed that he knew nothing about the city watch being summoned before a job was done, but was carrying the payment (which he handed over to his friend the gnome). Sly confirmed that he was telling the truth and he was contacted by a female dark elf. Unfortunately, Sly didn’t realise that Reginald was casting Phantasmal Killer. The man screamed of shock and died of a heart attack as his worst fears came true. Reginald, Thraim and Kerreth watching giggled and grinned as he died (except Sly who was shocked by his suddened unexplained death). Plans began to be discussed about getting the cult of Bane involved in the killing of the Beholder.
