Following the demise of the two plants, the sneaky three left to investigate the garden further. Reginald, Sly and Thraim sneaked off to discover that the cloaks were miniature elven cloaks. A Tree was discovered following the path it immediately attacked and despite the amazing diving and tumbling skills of Sly and Thraim both were soon caught be strangled up in the branches. Amazingly the Gnome completely avoided the attack and then cast a simple Polymorph Other spell causing the Hangman Tree to become a common garden slug. Thraim then fed it to the gold fish previously seen swimming in a garden pond. Circle of life indeed. Thraim began to mutter about hating this whole silly place.
Meanwhile up in the giant world Lanceabit, Cyric and Kerreth were engaged with the talking Cheshire cat. Cyric discovered that he could see it high in the tree shifting from the Ethereal to physical tree. The Cat seeing too many DOOM members vanished. Lanceabit and Cyric devised the “honey trap” and arranged to Kerreth to stand by herself while they became invisible (or nearly invisible by Cyric) and waited…
Down below in the rabbit burrow a door back to the starting giant room was discovered but ignored. An investigation of a apple orchard and manor house was attempted, setting of the magical trap causing the walls and roof of the house to begin crushing in. Reginald and Sly became ethereal and fled through a crack to the outside, leaving Thraim to beat futility at the non existent door. Luckily Sly decided to open the door from the outside allowing Thraim to escape certain death. Thraim continued to mutter about hating this silly place. The two smaller buildings with thatched roofs were investigated by peering through their porthole like windows to see two talking porcupines having a cup of tea and in the other dwelling two lizardmen talking. It was decided to knock on the door of the porcupines and have a chat. Sly did the talking to reveal that the entire Rabbit burrow belonged to the White Rabbit who was also a powerful mage and they worked for him. Deciding on the valiant approach all three crept off leaving the “relaxed resting areas” as the trap they probably were.
Upstairs the honey trap worked. The Cheshire cat reappeared and began to talk to Kerreth before deciding that she would be very yummy it its tummy. Cyric, Lanceabit and Kerreth all struck resounding blows as Kerreth received a small wound in return. Next round as it considered vanishing, it was heavily smashed by everyone, vanishing as Lanceabit slashed it (a total of 92 points of damage in 1 and 1/2 rounds). the Creepy re-emerged to see a smiling and contented Lanceabit, cleaning cat blood off his sword. Cryic was upset as he couldn’t find the body.
Being reunited, DOOM carried off walking up the path encountering a huge elephant sized dog that just wanted to play and had sticks thrown by Thraim until it got tired and fell asleep. Tis a silly place. Up the path in a linear and non book like fashion led to the domain of the Dutchess, known as “her grace”. Her habitat was guarded by fish faces who allowed DOOM to talk to her, but failed to goald her into attacking them. DOOM left hearing that she was a firm ally of the Queen. Reginald completely refused to backstab her.
Up the path and over the hill led to a garden party of the Mad Hatter, the Hare and Dormmouse. All sitting at the table having tea. Sly convinced them to allow DOOM to come to the table. The Mad Hatter started throwing hats round completely enraging the already annoyed Thraim who decided to attack the Hare. He cast Silence on himself and jump to attack. Silly Sly with a silly hat on his head believing himself to be a fighter drew his two daggers and joined in. Lanceabit casually hacking the Mad Hatter. Cyric attempted to free the gnome from a large all encompassing hat. Lanceabit slew the Mad Hatter who had wasted a round healing himself, and then chopping the Dormmouse to pieces. Thraim had been hit by the Hare, but Sly upon the death of the Hatter reverted back to himself and retreated out of combat. The Hare was hit by Thraim, but then killed by Lanceabit who was really enjoying the tea party now.
A very expensive pewter jug was found and Reginald poured himself a cup of tea, poisoning himself to death immediately. Laughter erupted as the squabble of what to do began…
