With the successful escape from the cloud giant castle DOOM made their way back to the small half-elven town Long….blah… blah.
Crossing plateaus high in the mountains, with DOOM looking over their collective shoulders, they noticed a couple of Griffins high in the sky. Sensing an angry mob of giants looming, DOOM forced their horses into a gallop (or equivalent)….. hoping to get to the cover of the forest.
Suddenly (well it may not have been suddenly, but Cyric was too busy looking behind) a 60’ Silver Dragon alighted in front of the party. Again it was like Children of the Corn with DOOM turning their heads as one, looking at Lanceabit, saying …..“NO”….
The dragon then informed DOOM that he was grateful for the release of his daughter, yes the giants were in pursuit, and the griffins were spy’s but they were all dead as he ate them to say thanks. DOOM looked around shrugging ….. where’s the gold? The dragon then did like large flying gecko’s do and flew off.
With no giants in sight DOOM escaped into the forest. After six days travel DOOM had retrieved Lanceabit’s wagons and were on their way back to Waterdeep…….
Suddenly DAY crashed into NIGHT, freezing cold winds struck, hurricane force winds, hail, thunder and tornadoes (if it could finder enough, even raining displacer beasts and hell hounds). DOOM struck camp, both Reginald and Sly cast Leomond’s Secure Shelter keeping, DOOM, 3 henchmen and 7 Knights of Chaos all snuggly. The remaining minions outside the shelter were left to fend for themselves under wagons. In the morning the toll was counted …. 10 dead Knights of Chaos ( Lanceabit’s didn’t even blink0.
DOOM contemplated the occurrence, with the resounding result, its the TIME of TROUBLES. Continuing their journey, DOOM witness farms destroyed and damage everywhere….. but Lanceabit’s exclaimed look “everything still works” with that the chaotic warrior then attempting to cast Invisibility from his ring…… DOOM held their breaths. Shock and surprise followed as nothing happened, Thraim saw nothing and Lanceabit’s disappeared. DOOM shrugged and continued its trek.
Upon reaching Waterdeep DOOMs guess had proved correct, the guards were in a panic, the Gods had been cast out of the heavens and magic has become unstable…. worst of all, some of DOOM’s buildings were damaged (dam you monopoly). Resulting in most DOOM members making a financial loss from the expedition to the Giant Mystery castle. So ended the night….. DOOM returned to Waterdeep, a very very boring rod found, no experience gained and net gold loss (Cyric the accountant).
